Classroom Management
For Classroom Management, I will have students do bellringers/ warm-ups once they come in the classroom. They will get their journal out, or do 5 warm-up problems that I have listed on the board. This will be standard procedure. In every lesson plan, I will incorporate an integrated curriculum, which means they will do art, math, science, and writing all in one lesson plan based on a topic that we will be discussing about. Also, I will have the students do student surveys to find out what they are interested in learning to entice their interest in learning. I believe more in intrinsic motivation more than I do believe in external motivation. I want the children to become interested in learning rather than them feeling they have to complete work.
Classroom Rules & Policies
I will have some rules on the first day to discuss with the class. Also, the students can think of more rules. We will discuss why rules are important. I want the children to know they will experience logical consequences rather than punishment. I do not believe in punishment. In addition, the students will sign the poster of rules at the end of the day. Also, they will take home a copy of the classroom rules that they have to sign along with their guardian to understand. Also, when students are in a conflict, I will act as a third party to get involved , and have the students discuss to each other why they are unhappy. I will help the students resolve it. In my classroom, we are considered a family. Students will not disrespect each other, nor will I do disrespect them either.
As for Classroom Policy, students will have a grace period that is a week to have their work turn in. After that, I will deduct 2 points every day for it is not turn in.
For excuses, it must be documented and valid. I will have some empathy and work with the student to help them achieve.

My Classroom Layout
My classroom is arranged for students to participate in Cooperative Learning. In Cooperative Learning, students will work together to gain positive and social skills.
I will also have a classroom library with popular children's books that are informative and fictional. These books received awards such as the Newbery and Caldecott Medals. Plus, I will have a listening Center for students to practice their phonemic awareness.
A computer lab where the students will play informative computer games. Everything on the computers will be monitored. These computers will only let students to go on safe websites. The students will also use the computer lab to do research for topics in their groups.
Science Center is where students will do experiments and observe class pets, and organisms that we study in our class.
Whole-Group Instruction is also very important because that is where I will instruct all the students how to do their lessons. In addition, I will have Differentiated Instruction to help students reach the knowledge and skills level that should have been previously mastered.
The Teacher-Student One-on-One Center will scaffold any material that students need to master.

Student Jobs and Responsibilities
The jobs that I have for my students will be : Class Librarian, Door Monitor, Dry Erase Board Monitor, Plant Technician, and Animal Trainer.
Class Librarian is in charge of the class library by making sure every student places their book back where it belongs. Also, the Class Librarian writes down the name of the student and the book the borrowed.
The Dry Erase Board Monitor will make sure everything on the board is erased by the end of the day.
The Energy Monitor make sure the light is turned off when the class leaves the room.
The Plant Technician make sure the plants get watered every day.
The Animal Trainer takes care of Classroom Pets.

Homework
Students will get homework once in awhile, but they will have time to complete it with the choice of Preferred Activity Time, so they will not have to complete it at home. Homework will usually be completed in class if the students choose to. If not, then they will complete it at home. As mentioned before, they will have a grace period for a week after the day it is due. Once the grace period is over, 2 points will be deducted per day after the grace period.
Assignments
Assignments pretty much hands-on activities. Children learn better with hands-on learning rather than filling in worksheets. Students work in groups. Each student will be assigned a different job in the group. I will grade each student according to their performance on the group. If one student does not do their part, the rest of the group will not be affected by it. Students will know what will be graded by rubrics. Rubrics are scoring charts on what I am looking for in their assignments.
